Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient service
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality food preparation
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock rotation
- Ensure all food presentation meets the organisation’s quality standards
- Collaborate with team members to develop new menu items and improve existing offerings
- Serve dishes to customers when required, maintaining excellent customer service standards
- Train new staff members in food preparation, safety procedures, and service protocols
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, preferably within hospitality or restaurant sectors
- Demonstrable supervising experience with team management skills
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in culinary hygiene
- Excellent skills in food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Experience in food production, restaurant operations, and serving customers
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications are desirable but not essential
