A well-established 3-form entry primary school in Hayes is seeking a Year 1 Teacher to join their team from late September 2026 to cover a maternity leave until July 2027.

About the Role
The successful candidate will:

Take responsibility for a Year 1 class from late September 2026

Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum

Support pupils as they continue to develop key literacy and numeracy skills

Deliver high-quality phonics teaching and assessment

Monitor progress and adapt teaching to meet the needs of all learners

Work collaboratively with parallel teachers across the year group

Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues

The Ideal Candidate
The school is looking for a teacher who:

Holds UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Has experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1
-
Has a good understanding of phonics and early reading

Maintains high expectations for behaviour and achievement

Is organised, reliable, and committed to pupil progress

Works effectively as part of a team
