About the role
The Senior Supported Housing Officer will play a key role in enabling people with learning disabilities and autism to access, maintain and sustain high-quality supported living accommodation. The role ensures that housing-related processes are well managed, compliant and person-centred, working in partnership with people we support, their families, local authorities and external stakeholders.
The postholder will take responsibility for tenancy management, housing benefit administration, property oversight and service charge processes, ensuring that all activities support safe, effective and well-managed services. They will contribute to compliance, governance and continuous improvement across supported housing provision.
As part of the role, the successful applicant will:
- Support individuals and families with housing benefit applications, reviews and ongoing claims
- Manage tenancy agreements, renewals and end-of-tenancy processes
- Undertake property checks and coordinate repairs and maintenance with relevant teams
- Produce and manage accurate service charge information and ensure transparency
- Build effective relationships with landlords, lease providers and external partners
- Ensure compliance with housing legislation, supported housing requirements and organisational policies
- Contribute to audits, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
- Work collaboratively across operational, finance and support teams
About you
Applicants will need to demonstrate experience in housing, tenancy management or supported living environments, with a strong understanding of housing benefit processes, tenancy agreements and property management. Knowledge of relevant housing legislation and experience working in partnership with local authorities and external providers will be important.
You will be highly organised, detail-focused and able to manage a varied workload, with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with individuals, families and colleagues. A commitment to person-centred practice, compliance and continuous improvement is essential.
Experience of working within social care, supported housing or a regulated environment would be advantageous.
