Embers Camping has been the go-to destination for family camping since 2013, welcoming over 40,000 overnight stays per annum. Our seven campsites are set in stunning locations such as National Trust properties in the South East of England, offering safe open spaces for children to run free, stay in bell tents with roaring campfires outside – camping as it should be!
The sites sell many different items from camping gear to food & drinks. Weekly cash ups, stock control, reconciliations, payroll and administrative tasks need to be performed to control the finances of the local sites.
It's a truly great position to lead the process of controlling the daily takings and stock control of the campsites and communicating with the various teams that operate our campsites in Surrey, Hampshire, Sussex, Oxfordshire, Kent and Bucks. The role will be a very engaging and varied as well as challenging when we reach the high season, which is forecast to be very busy.
We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing monthly financial reports such as Profit and Loss and Balance sheet, and also analysing financial data.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial records and reports such as P&L and Balance Sheet every month for all sites
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Reconciliation of weekly cash takings and stock on all sites
- Month End Postings and Reconciliations
- Monthly Payroll for staff
- Weekly administrative tasks and monitoring of budgets
Skills:
- Accounting qualifications/Part Qualified
- Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software
- Previous experience of working in the Hospitality/Leisure industry is preferred
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and meet agreed timescales
