Position: Complex care Support Worker -Part time Days/nights
Location: Lenton, Nottingham
Salary: £13.50 per hour
We are currently seeking an experienced Complex Healthcare Assistant for a unique opportunity.
The client is a young man who is a "night owl," often staying up until the early hours of the morning. We are looking for an individual who can engage with his intellectual needs, manage challenging behaviour that may arise, and handle his complex care requirements. Please note that being a dog lover is essential for this role.
Shift Details:
1 x part time carer required for two Day shift: per week 07:30 to 19:30
1 x part time carer required for two Night Shift per week:19:30 to 07:30
Key Responsibilities:
Providing care to this young man with complex health needs which includes:
- Non-Invasive Ventilation (NIV)
- Suction care
- Cough assist
- Manual handling
- PEG feeding
- Assist with daily living activities, personal care, and medication administration
- Follow personalised care plans and maintain accurate health records
- Work closely with healthcare professionals and families to ensure the highest standards of care
- Offering your client emotional reassurance and helping him manage challenges such as frustration, anxiety, or mood changes.
- Remain alert throughout your entire shift. It is a requirement of the role that you stay awake and attentive at all times, including during periods of downtime when the client is asleep.
Requirements:
- Experience with NIV, suction, cough assist, manual handling, and PEG feeding is preferred
- A caring nature with a dedication to improving clients’ quality of life
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Dog lover
- Experience with Challenging behaviour
- Remain alert throughout your entire shift. It is a requirement of the role that you stay awake and attentive at all times, including during periods of downtime when the client is asleep.
