Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursery Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with young children in a nursery setting. As a Nursery Nurse, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children, fostering their development and wellbeing.
Duties
- Provide high-quality care and education to children aged 0-5 years in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote learning and development across all areas of the curriculum.
- Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records to support their individual learning journeys.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare.
- Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and play activities, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children.
- Support children’s emotional and social development through positive interactions and guidance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised nursery environment that meets health and safety regulations.
- Demonstrate leadership skills by mentoring junior staff members and contributing to team meetings.
Requirements
- A qualification in Early Childhood Education or equivalent is essential.
- Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a calm demeanour in a busy environment.
- A genuine drive to support children's learning and development through creative play.
- Leadership qualities that enable effective teamwork and collaboration with colleagues.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development within the field of childcare.
