The Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving the continued growth of Auto Hub & Trading Ltd by identifying new business opportunities, expanding the company's customer base, and developing strategic commercial partnerships. The role will focus on increasing revenue across both the used vehicle sales and automotive repair divisions through customer acquisition, relationship management, and market expansion.
Working closely with senior management, the successful candidate will develop and implement growth strategies, strengthen relationships with corporate clients and trade partners, generate new commercial opportunities, and enhance the company's presence within the UK automotive market. Duties
- Develop and implement business development strategies to increase company revenue and profitability.
- Identify new sales opportunities for used vehicle sales, vehicle sourcing, and automotive services.
- Expand the company's customer base through proactive networking, lead generation, and relationship management.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, fleet operators, dealerships, insurance companies, finance providers, leasing companies, and trade partners.
- Develop opportunities to increase business for the company's vehicle repair, servicing, diagnostics, and mechanical workshop.
- Identify commercial partnerships that generate repeat business for both vehicle sales and aftersales services.
- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends, customer demand, and new business opportunities.
- Work closely with the sales and workshop teams to maximise customer retention and improve overall business performance.
- Develop marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns to increase brand awareness and generate qualified customer enquiries.
- Prepare business development reports, sales forecasts, and performance updates for senior management.
- Recommend improvements to business processes, customer experience, and commercial operations.
- Ensure all business development activities comply with company policies and relevant UK legislation.
Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification in Business, Marketing, Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum three years' experience in business development, commercial management, sales management, or a similar role.
- Proven track record of identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities that contribute to business growth.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to develop and implement effective business growth strategies.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong understanding of sales processes, customer relationship management, and business development practices.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn and effectively use CRM systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret market trends and identify commercial opportunities.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Experience within the automotive or motor trade industry is desirable but not essential.
