About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Early Years Speech and Language Specialist to support children aged 0–5 years across our nurseries and early years settings in Kent.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant difference to children's communication, language and social development through assessment, intervention and staff training.
You will work collaboratively with nursery teams, families and external professionals to identify and support children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
Key Responsibilities
- Assess children's speech, language and communication development.
- Deliver targeted and specialist interventions.
- Develop individual support plans and monitor progress.
- Train and mentor nursery practitioners.
- Support children with SEND and EHCP outcomes.
- Work closely with parents and carers to embed strategies at home.
- Contribute to communication-friendly learning environments.
- Maintain accurate records and reports.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or related specialist qualification.
- HCPC registration (for qualified Speech and Language Therapists).
- Experience supporting children aged 0–5 years.
- Knowledge of early language development and SEND.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Desirable
- Experience working within nurseries or early years settings.
- Elklan, Attention Autism, Makaton or similar specialist training.
- Experience contributing to EHCP assessments and reviews.
- Membership with the royal college of Speech and language therapists.
- Experience with working within the NHS - this will give us the edge to supporting the applications and evidence needed towards referrals and EHCP as they will have worked in the system.

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
