Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated self employed Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely to various locations in all weather. This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to manage time effectively while ensuring customer satisfaction. The Delivery Driver will operate a van and may be required to perform heavy lifting as part of their daily duties.
Duties
- Safely drive a van to deliver goods to designated locations in a timely manner.
- Load and unload items, ensuring that all deliveries are handled with care, especially when heavy lifting is required.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including tracking delivery times and obtaining signatures when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse staff and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure the van is in good working order and report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving, ensuring safety at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience as a Delivery Driver or in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- A valid driving license is required; experience in commercial driving is advantageous.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics processes would be beneficial.
- Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and team members effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed during the loading and unloading process.
- Experience of driving a van is desirable
