We are seeking a dedicated Part-Time Health and Safety Personnel to support our organisation in maintaining a safe and compliant working environment. The ideal candidate will possess a proactive approach to health and safety management, with the ability to identify hazards, implement safety procedures, and promote a culture of safety awareness among staff. Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections across all operational areas to identify potential hazards
- Assist in the development, implementation, and review of health and safety policies and procedures
- Provide first aid assistance as required, ensuring prompt and effective response to incidents
- Prepare detailed reports on safety inspections, incidents, and root cause analyses for management review
- Support investigations into accidents or near-misses to determine root causes and recommend corrective actions
- Promote health and safety awareness through training sessions and communication campaigns
- Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and industry standards
- Maintain accurate documentation related to safety activities, training records, and incident reports
Skills
- Proven experience in health and safety roles or related fields is advantageous
- First aid certification with the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations
- Strong report writing skills with attention to detail and clarity
- Ability to perform root cause analysis to identify underlying issues contributing to safety incidents
- Excellent organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Good communication skills, capable of engaging with staff at all levels
- Proactive attitude towards hazard identification and risk mitigation
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation within the UK
