This is an exciting new role within our growing income generation and engagement team. We are seeking an Individual Giving Officer who will take the lead in developing, testing, learning and growing the direct marketing programme and developing supporter journeys.
Role Responsibilities
- With the support of the Head of Income Generation produce an overall individual giving strategy, annual plans, budgets and KPIs for individual giving income.
- Create a sustainable programme – increasing the supporter base across all channels, including developing and deploying strategies and programmes to engage and motivate supporters.
- Plan and deliver engaging multi-channel fundraising campaigns and appeals.
- Provide advice and support to branches for one-off lottery or other individual giving initiatives; ensure compliance with our gambling commission licence nationally and through branches.
- Review and develop the charity’s programme of appeals, regular giving and sponsorship products, lottery and donor development programmes.
- Maximise digital fundraising opportunities whilst recognising the contribution of non-digital approaches for certain audiences and product types.
- Review and develop opportunities for legacy and in memoriam gifts.
- Analyse income and expenditure on a monthly basis, use a set of KPIs to report on progress and forecast future results.
- Design and implement a stewardship programme with particular attention to supporter journeys for new and existing supporters that increase average values and long-term support.
- Accountable for compliance of the individual giving programme.
- Ensure data collection, management, use, storage and destruction comply with data protection law and best practice.
- Engage with staff and volunteers on the importance of fundraising from individuals and how their individual roles can enhance fundraising opportunities.
- Work closely with other members of staff to ensure individual giving-related products and initiatives are integrated with other areas of the charity, such as brand and marketing programmes, retail development and homing campaigns.
Person Specification
- Experience of working in individual giving/direct marketing.
- A track record of delivering income growth, and establishing and embedding new programmes of activity.
- Experience of setting, managing and delivering against budgets, reporting on KPIs.
- Ability to manage and monitor external suppliers and agencies and specifically in working in partnership with supporters and suppliers to maximise outcomes.
- Experience of developing and evaluating acquisition or retention campaigns and activity across a variety of offline and digital channels.
- Demonstrable experience of donor development, journeys and stewardship.
- Understanding of legacy marketing.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Inspiring and engaging verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of charity law, GDPR and the Fundraising Code of Practice.
- Proficiency in using a CRM system.
- A strong understanding of supporter motivations and feelings and the ability to translate this into engaging and responsive communications and content.
- Ability to work in collaboration, negotiating and influencing with stakeholders and building relationships.
- Creative, innovative thinking.
- Affinity with the vision, mission and values of the Greyhound Trust.
