Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, kitchen operations, and team management to ensure the delivery of exceptional dining experiences. Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, ensuring smooth daily operations and efficient workflow
- Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to customer preferences
- Oversee food production, ensuring all dishes meet quality standards and are prepared in a timely manner
- Manage food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and hygiene regulations
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise profitability
- Provide training and mentorship to junior staff, promoting professional development and teamwork
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction
- Assist in serving guests when required, maintaining a high standard of hospitality
Experience
- Proven supervisory experience within a professional kitchen setting, ideally in a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and culinary arts
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Experience in menu development and food presentation techniques
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced restaurant or similar establishment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of hospitality operations including serving procedures is advantageous
