Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated qualified Childcare Practitioner to provide high-quality care and educational support to children of various ages, from 6 weeks until 16 year olds. The successful candidate will create a safe, nurturing environment that promotes learning, development, and well-being. The individual will be responsible for working in our nursery from 9am-2pm and then transitioning over to our Out of School Club where they will be responsible for collecting children from a local Primary School.
Duties
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate activities that support children’s physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development.
- Supervise children during playtime, meals, rest periods, and organised activities to ensure their safety at all times.
- Support children with special educational needs or disabilities by adapting activities and providing personalised assistance.
- Foster effective communication with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare.
- Assist with behavioural management strategies to promote positive behaviour and social skills.
- Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and daily routines in accordance with organisational policies.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the childcare environment, including toys and learning materials.
- Support children's transition between activities and assist with toilet training or personal care as needed.
- Dropping off and collecting children from Primary Schools
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications in childcare e.g. SVQ 3 or HNC in childhood & Education
- Previous experience working with children, particularly in early years or specialised settings such as nursery or after school care.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, and team members.
- Ability to work flexibly within organisational hours and adapt to the needs of the children.
- A recognised safeguarding qualification or willingness to undertake safeguarding training is required.This role provides an enriching environment for those committed to making a positive impact on children's lives through compassionate care and educational support.
Pay: £13.50-£14.00 per hour
