We work on behalf of a small specialist setting in Swindon that look after students with SEMH as well as other needs (ASD, ADHD, SLCN). The school are looking for an HLTA to join the team in supporting students across the school.
The students come from a variety of different backgrounds, often being trauma heavy. We have placed a number of students at the school over the years and we have always received positive feedback, particularly about how lovely and welcoming the team of staff there are.
The role
The role of HLTA is varied, you are very considered to be the school's all rounder - so being adaptable/flexible is absolutely crucial. Your role includes leading pre-planned lessons (small groups), providing 1-1 support, as well as general class support.
Due to the needs of the students it is imperative that you have worked with SEMH children before and feel comfortable working with challenging behaviour. They will accept applications from strong TA's with relevant experience looking to take the step up in responsibilities.
