Job description:
Cooks are a long-standing, established family business and are looking for an Installations Assistant to join the team.
Working alongside a lead installer or engineer to deliver, install, maintain and repair industrial and domestic doors / shutters across industrial, commercial and residential sites. The role will involve preparing workspaces, handling materials, and assist with hands-on technical tasks, playing a vital role in ensuring projects are completed efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Preparation: Prepping vans, tools, and materials before heading to a job site.
- On-Site Assistance: Helping lead installers move, lift, and physically install various items (e.g. industral roller shutters and sectional doors, security grilles, access door sets and domestic garage doors).
- Safety & Compliance: Ensuring the work area is secure, cleaning up the site post-installation, and following all health and safety regulations.
- Client Service: Communicating with customers, occasionally demonstrating how to use the newly installed equipment.
- Technical Support: Assisting with basic troubleshooting, wiring, and testing.
Typical Requirements
- Physical Fitness: Many of these roles are highly hands-on and require regular lifting of heavy objects or manoeuvring in tight spaces and require working at height.
- Technical Skills: A basic understanding of hand tools, power tools, and technical systems is usually required.
- Driver's Licence: A clean driving license to travel between customer sites in a company vehicle would be beneficial but not essential.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills for interfacing directly with clients. Good written communication skills.
- Other: Be punctual and presentable with a hands-on enthusiastic attitude.
Pay and Benefits
