About the Role
As a Nursing Support Worker, you will support adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex health needs to live life as they choose.
This role combines hands-on care and clinical support, including assisting with health needs, personal care, and day-to-day living. You will work as part of a supportive team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care that promotes independence, choice, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support in line with individual care and support plans
- Support with personal care and promote dignity and respect at all times
- Assist with healthcare tasks as directed by qualified professionals (e.g. observations, medication support where trained)
- Support individuals with daily living tasks such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and budgeting
- Assist individuals to access the community, appointments, and social activities
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and clinical procedures
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for a caring, compassionate, and reliable individual with strong communication and teamwork skills.
- A positive, patient, and person-centred approach
- Willingness to support both healthcare and daily living needs
- Flexible to work a range of shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins where required
- Previous experience in care or healthcare is desirable but not essential
Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
Additional Information
Due to the nature of the role, there may be exposure to challenging behaviour, manual handling tasks, medication administration and passive smoke environments. Appropriate training and ongoing support will be provided to ensure staff can carry out their duties safely and confidently.
