Personal Trainer (Self-Employed) – Become a NeuroMotor Trainer and Make Real Impact
Help stroke survivors continue their recovery.
Self-Employed | Flexible Hours | Training Funded | Working with Clients at Home
About Stroke.Fitness
Every year, thousands of people leave rehabilitation clinics before their recovery is complete. Many are still unable to move freely, experience limitations in daily life, and lack the ongoing support they need to make further progress.
At Stroke.Fitness, we believe recovery does not stop when rehabilitation ends. Using the Kuipers-Rådestad NeuroMotor Method, we support people in continuing to develop their mobility, coordination, independence, and confidence.
Due to our expansion in the United Kingdom, we are currently looking for motivated trainers in London and the Greater London area to join us in making a difference.
What will you do?
As a NeuroMotor Trainer, you will work with people who have experienced a stroke or brain haemorrhage.
You will work primarily at clients' homes, delivering individual training sessions tailored to their abilities and goals. You can also support clients through online sessions.
Your responsibilities include:
- Delivering NeuroMotor training sessions at clients' homes
- Supporting clients through online sessions
- Conducting assessments in line with our methodology
- Monitoring progress and outcomes
- Building a trusting, long-term relationship with clients
- Contributing to a safe, positive, and motivating training environment
We take care of client acquisition, training programmes, scheduling, and administrative support, so you can focus entirely on your clients.
Why this role is different
This is not a traditional personal training role. You are not working towards athletic performance or aesthetic goals. You are helping people regain skills that most of us take for granted: walking, standing up, moving, maintaining balance, and functioning independently.
Every session has a direct impact on your client's quality of life.
The Method
You will work according to the Kuipers-Rådestad NeuroMotor Method, a training methodology based on neuroplasticity: the brain's ability to form new connections and redevelop functions.
The method was developed by a clinical neuroscientist and a stroke survivor, and is now used with more than 1,600 clients worldwide.
Stroke.Fitness operates in multiple countries and is currently expanding across the United Kingdom.
Training and Certification
To work with clients using our method, you will complete the training programme to become a Certified KR-NMC NeuroMotor Fitness Specialist.
The programme is designed to be combined with work:
- 2 to 5 hours of self-study per week
- Monthly online lectures
- Supervised practical training
- Assessments per training module
After approximately 80 hours of supervised practical training, you will be able to work with clients independently and start generating income.
The programme has a value of £7,995. This investment is funded and offset against the income you generate through your work. You do not need to pay the training costs upfront.
Who are we looking for?
We are primarily looking for personal trainers, fitness professionals, and coaches based in London or the Greater London area who want to make a greater impact through their work.
You are also:
- Independent and responsible
- Empathetic and client-focused
- A strong communicator
- Willing to travel within the region (own transport required)
- Motivated to develop specialist knowledge
- Someone who values long-term relationships with clients
Experience with neurological conditions is not required. We will teach you the method.
What we offer
- Autonomous work with a high degree of freedom
- Flexible hours
- A unique specialisation within the health and fitness sector
- Guidance and support from an international network
- Access to clients through our platform
- A proven methodology with international application
- The opportunity to do meaningful work every day
