Job Overview
We are seeking a self-employed individual to operate as a driver, providing reliable and efficient transportation services. This role involves managing deliveries and pickups, ensuring timely arrivals, and maintaining professional communication with clients. The ideal candidate will be experienced in commercial driving, possess excellent organisational skills, and be capable of handling physical tasks associated with the role.
Duties
- Safely operate a vehicle for delivery and collection purposes across designated routes
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule
- Load and unload goods, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of the vehicle at all times
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding delivery times and any potential delays
- Keep detailed records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies throughout operations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles
- Valid driver’s licence with no more than 6 points
- Strong communication skills to liaise professionally with clients and team members
- Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently as a self-employed individual
- Good organisational skills to plan routes effectively and maintain accurate records
