We're looking for an ambitious fundraising leader to take ownership of our Dogs Trust fundraising operation across Sussex.
You'll inherit an established, high-performing team and be responsible for developing people, driving performance, maintaining exceptional compliance standards and helping to shape the future growth of the operation.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll spend the majority of your time in the field alongside your team, coaching, mentoring and leading from the front.

The Role
As Field Campaign Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day success of our Dogs Trust campaign across Sussex.
You'll directly manage Fundraisers and Team Leaders, ensuring fundraising performance, donor quality, compliance standards and team culture remain exceptional.
You'll initially oversee a small but high-performing and growing team, with responsibility for supporting future expansion as the campaign develops.
This role combines leadership, coaching, recruitment, administration and fundraising performance into one position.
You should expect to spend over 60-80% of your working week in the field, leading teams, coaching fundraisers and setting the standard through your own fundraising.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Direct line management of Fundraisers and Team Leaders.
- Leading fundraising teams in the field a minimum of 2-3 days per week.
- Coaching and mentoring fundraisers through regular field observation and development sessions.
- Monitoring and improving individual and team KPIs.
- Delivering performance reviews, feedback and development plans.
- Creating a high-performance culture built on accountability, support and continuous improvement.
- Leading from the front through strong personal fundraising performance.
Recruitment & Team Growth
- Interviewing and hiring new fundraisers.
- Supporting onboarding and induction programmes.
- Building and maintaining a strong recruitment pipeline.
- Developing future Team Leaders and managers from within the team.
- Supporting retention through effective leadership and culture-building.
Training & Development
- Delivering office and field-based training.
- Training, supporting and developing Team Leaders.
- Identifying development needs across the team.
- Ensuring all fundraisers receive ongoing coaching and support.
Campaign Operations
- Managing daily site allocations and team deployment.
- Booking fundraising locations and maintaining site schedules.
- Planning rotas and team logistics.
- Completing timesheets and operational administration.
- Supporting campaign growth and expansion opportunities across Sussex.
Compliance & Quality
- Maintaining exceptional fundraising standards.
- Conducting compliance observations and quality checks.
- Managing performance and compliance processes where required.
- Supporting complaint resolution and donor quality improvement.
- Ensuring adherence to charity, agency and industry regulations.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Proven face-to-face fundraising experience.
- Previous leadership experience as a Team Leader, Assistant Manager, Campaign Manager or similar.
- Strong coaching and people-development skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational ability.
- High personal standards of fundraising performance and professionalism.
- Ability to lead by example and inspire others through action.
- Strong understanding of fundraising compliance and donor quality expectations.
Desirable
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Experience managing recruitment and onboarding processes.
- Experience developing Team Leaders or future managers.
- Experience working with regular giving charity campaigns.
- Strong understanding of fundraising performance metrics and donor quality indicators.
