Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Jnr Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and kitchen management, demonstrating exceptional leadership skills and a commitment to food safety and quality. As a key member of our kitchen, you will support the Sous & Head Chef in overseeing daily operations, ensuring that our culinary offerings meet the highest standards of excellence while fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Sous & Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, including food preparation and cooking.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
- Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in compliance with health regulations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative menu items that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to specification and presented beautifully for service.
- Address any issues that arise during service promptly to maintain quality and customer satisfaction.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
- Strong supervisory experience with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food production techniques and culinary practices.
- Excellent cooking skills with a passion for creating high-quality dishes.
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices.
- Exceptional organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure under pressure.
