Chichester Counselling Services is seeking an experienced psychodynamic practitioner to join our training team as Year 2 Course Tutor on our BACP-accredited Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Psychodynamic).
About CCS
CCS provides affordable counselling services to the local community alongside a respected three-year Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Psychodynamic). Our training integrates theory, personal development and supervised clinical placement work within the CCS counselling service.
The Role
The Year 2 Course Tutor, supports students as they deepen their understanding of psychodynamic theory and prepare for client work.
Working closely with the wider Training Team, you will help create a reflective, supportive and professionally rigorous learning environment, supporting students’ professional and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver weekly teaching sessions and Saturday workshops, in line with the Year 2 curriculum and learning outcomes
- Facilitate experiential and collaborative learning
- Conduct tutorials and contribute to assessments
- Mark written and role-play assignments
- Support student wellbeing alongside the training team
- Attend Training Team and review meetings
- Contribute to recruitment and course development activities
Essential Requirements
- Qualification in psychodynamic or psychoanalytic counselling/psychotherapy
- BACP accreditation, UKCP/BPC registration, or equivalent
- Recognised teaching qualification
- Commitment to the BACP Ethical Framework
- Strong communication, organisational and administrative skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Competence with Microsoft Office and standard IT systems
Desirable
- Significant clinical experience in organisational settings
- Experience teaching psychodynamic counselling
- Course development experience
- Supervision training and/or supervisory experience
Hours and Pay
- Wednesdays, 6–8pm (30 teaching weeks per year), in person in Central Chichester
- Four Saturday workshops annually
- Additional time for tutorials, marking and meetings
Rates:
- £45 per teaching contact hour; £36 per training Team meeting attended
- Additional payments for marking and tutorials
- Professional Liability Insurance is provided by CCS.
- Successful applicants will be required to complete a DBS check.
