Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 2 Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a passion for delivering outstanding service and maintaining high safety standards. The position is full-time and involves operating flatbed lorries within a busy logistics environment.
Duties
- Safely operate a Class 2 HGV lorry, including flatbed vehicles, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Load and unload goods, ensuring correct securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit
- Conduct pre-journey checks on the vehicle, including brakes, tyres, lights, and load security equipment
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries whilst complying with legal driving hours and restrictions
- Assist with delivery documentation and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery completion
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance reports
- Follow all health and safety protocols during loading, unloading, and driving operations
- Report any vehicle defects or incidents promptly to management for resolution
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for cargo securement
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving licence for HGV Class 2 (Category C)
- Previous delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Good organisational skills to plan routes and manage delivery schedules effectively
- Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road

Pay: £14.50-£16.50 per hour
