The role
We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant to join an EYFS team, working across both Nursery and Reception classes. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone passionate about early childhood development to make a real difference during those formative first years of school life.
Trial period: We welcome candidates who are available to trial as soon as possible ahead of the September start date. Early expression of interest is strongly encouraged.
Key responsibilities
- Support the class teacher in delivering engaging, play-based learning experiences in line with the EYFS framework
- Work flexibly across Nursery and Reception, adapting your approach to meet the needs of each age group
- Provide targeted support to individual children and small groups, including those with additional needs or SEND
- Contribute to observations, assessments, and learning journals to track each child's progress
- Help prepare and maintain a stimulating, well-organised classroom and outdoor learning environment
- Build warm, trusting relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Support daily routines including registration, snack time, transitions, and lunchtime where required
- Assist with settling new children and supporting their emotional wellbeing and social development
- Contribute to planning meetings and CPD sessions as part of the wider EYFS team
Requirements & what we offer
Requirements
- Proven experience working in an EYFS setting (Nursery and/or Reception) — essential
- Solid understanding of the EYFS statutory framework and Development Matters
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education, or equivalent
- Experience supporting children with SEND is desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, nurturing, and child-centred approach
- Ability to use own initiative as well as work collaboratively
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain one)
- Right to work in the UK

Pay: £100.00-£110.00 per day
