Company Description
Carlton Hydrotherapy Centre is a specialist small animal rehabilitation centre based in Leeds, West Yorkshire. Our purpose-built facility includes a 5.2m x 2m heated hydrotherapy pool with water jets, a Techniks Hydro-Physio underwater treadmill with an inclining floor, and K-Laser therapy equipment.
We work closely with local veterinary practices and specialist orthopaedic surgeons to provide tailored rehabilitation programmes for dogs and other small animals. We treat a wide range of medical and orthopaedic conditions, supporting patients before and after surgery as well as those undergoing conservative management.
We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and professional Canine Hydrotherapist to join our friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about animal rehabilitation and wants to develop their skills in a well-established referral centre.
Job Type
- Permanent, contracted position
- 26–36 hours per week
- Includes one evening shift and one Saturday shift each week
Pay
Industry-standard pay, dependent on qualifications and experience. Pay will increase in line with relevant qualifications, experience and responsibilities.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have one of the following:
- Level 3 Certificate in Small Animal Hydrotherapy (minimum), or be actively working towards the qualification; or
- Qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN)
The ideal candidate will also have:
- A genuine passion for animal rehabilitation and welfare
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Good organisational and record-keeping skills
- A full UK driving licence and access to their own transport is preferred, as the centre is not located on a public bus route.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out initial consultations and hydrotherapy/K-Laser treatment sessions.
- Develop and implement individual rehabilitation programmes.
- Perform pre-treatment health checks and monitor patient progress.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and prepare reports for referring veterinary practices.
- Liaise professionally with veterinary surgeons and clients.
- Ensure referrals and clinical documentation are complete and up to date.
- Manage appointments, bookings and client enquiries via telephone, email and text.
- Prepare patients before and after treatment sessions.
- Maintain the hydrotherapy pool, underwater treadmill and other equipment, reporting any faults.
- Monitor pool water quality and carry out routine maintenance.
- Assist with social media updates where required.
- Support and supervise apprentices, work experience students and other team members when appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with CHA Quality Standards and all health and safety procedures.
