CNC Machinist
Experience required
The ideal candidate will be a time served machinist capable of programming and operating CNC Lathes and Milling Machines, as well as Conventional centre lathes.
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
HNC / NVQ level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, or time-served apprenticeship in a machining discipline. With a minimum of 5 years’ experience operating CNC machine tools.
Experience working with HURCO machines, with a proficiency in standalone programming and editing. Setting knowledge and correction offsets to ensure repeatable dimensional accuracy and surface finish
Experience with precision inspection equipment, and the ability to carry out first off inspections.
Job Tasks
Read process sheets, drawings and sketches of part to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, set up and operating requirements
Identify, select correct tooling for operations being performed.
Intuitively understand capabilities of tooling and machinery
Understand applicable quality systems and perform necessary quality inspections
Apply principles of Lean Manufacturing to reduce setup times and improve productivity
Manual Centre Lathe Turning/ Screw Cutting experience desired
Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow
Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean work area
