Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance person to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and upkeep of our equipment and facilities. This role requires a strong technical background of care home equipment, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Maintenance Technician will play a vital role in maintaining safety standards, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives at our operation.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and equipment to ensure smooth operation.
- Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical and mechanical systems in use.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, diagrams, and maintenance manuals accurately.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance purposes.
- Lead or supervise maintenance tasks, providing guidance to the team members when necessary.
- Collaborate with other departments to address operational issues promptly and efficiently.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment.
- Assist in training new team members on maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
- Maintain the Nursing Home building, interior and premises with prompt re-decoration including painting, flooring, minor groundworks as necessary.
- Assist the management in procurement/collection of maintenance and other items on request.
Requirements
- Proven experience in maintenance roles within Care Home environment.
- Knowledge with troubleshooting mechanical systems, and hand tools.
- Familiarity with reading technical diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Supervising experience is desirable, demonstrating leadership capabilities in team settings.
- Good communication skills in English to effectively document work and collaborate with colleagues.
- Customer service orientation with the ability to respond professionally to internal clients’ needs.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to guide other team members during maintenance task.
- Willingness to learn and adapt with changes.
- Proactive approach with the proper maintenance of the environment including re-decorating.
Pay: £13.00-£13.25 per hour
