Our processing plant and team of operatives are growing and, as a result, we need to expand our team of plant engineers to be able to carry out proactive preventative maintenance and reactive repairs to our plant machinery on the night shift.
The role
- plan and undertake inspection and service routines, repairs and testing of machinery, as required to provide operational continuity
- plan and undertake routine and preventative maintenance works as required, liaising with relevant managers to ensure necessary staffing/operational arrangements have been made
- investigate and diagnose faults, report findings and carry out all repairs to manufacturer’s standards
- direct and assist in the cleaning of the MRF in all areas and remove waste within the plant to allow safe and effective maintenance to be carried out
- provide guidance and support to junior colleagues to aid their development
Shift patterns available:
Mon-Thu 8pm to 6am
Tue-Fri 8pm to 6am
What you need
- relevant qualification in mechanical engineering or similar field, or compensating work experience
- significant experience in a similar role within a workshop environment
- experience repairing and maintaining heavy plant machinery
- ability to diagnose problems and identify preventative measures
- proficient in diagnosis and repairs to hydraulic, mechanical and electrical systems
- excellent communications skills with the ability to build good working relationships at all levels
- welding training and experience would be beneficial, but not essential
- experience working with the recycling, waste, or comparable plant industries would be advantageous, but not essential as full training will be provided
