Job Description
Are you a recruiter who wants to do more than simply fill roles? Do you want your work to directly shape the quality of care delivered to vulnerable children and young people every single day? If so, this could be the role for you.
We are a growing provider of Ofsted-registered residential children’s homes, and we are looking for a dedicated In-House Recruiter to take ownership of how we find, attract and hire the brilliant people who make our homes what they are.
This is a pivotal role. The quality of our staff is everything, and you’ll be responsible for making sure we always have the right people in place across our homes.
This is a fully in-office, hands-on role based at our office in South Croydon. When you’re in, you’re really in — visiting our homes, sitting with hiring managers, and getting under the skin of what each team needs. This isn’t a remote inbox role. It’s a people role, done properly — and the best recruitment decisions are made when you know the people and places you’re hiring for.
What You’ll Be Doing Day to Day
- Managing end-to-end recruitment across our children’s homes, from writing job adverts through to offer and onboarding
- Sourcing Residential Support Workers, Senior Support Workers, Team Leaders, Deputy Managers and Registered Managers
- Building strong pipelines of candidates through job boards, social media, referrals and direct outreach
- Managing relationships with hiring managers across our homes and keeping them updated throughout the process
- Visiting our homes and working closely with managers to understand each service, team dynamic and staffing need
- Continuously improving how we recruit, including reducing time-to-hire, improving candidate experience and strengthening our employer brand
- Supporting a recruitment process that is safe, values-led and aligned with the needs of children’s residential care
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in recruitment, whether in-house or agency, ideally within social care, children’s services or a related sector
- Strong understanding of high-volume recruitment and the ability to manage multiple vacancies across different locations
- Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities and keep processes moving
- A genuine passion for the children’s residential care sector and the difference great staff make
- Confident communicator, able to build trust quickly with candidates and internal stakeholders alike
- A proactive, hands-on approach — someone who is comfortable being visible, present and involved with the homes they are recruiting for
- Someone who understands that recruitment in care is about people, values and long-term fit, not just filling vacancies
Why Join Us?
- Salary of £35,000–£55,000 per year, depending on experience
- 28 days annual leave, including bank holidays
- Regular team-building days — we invest in our people, not just our processes
- You’ll be joining at an exciting moment as we grow from two homes to four, and this role will grow with us
- Real, visible impact — every hire you make directly shapes the quality of care children in our homes receive
- A close-knit, values-led team where your contribution is recognised and your voice is heard from day one
- Full support with DBS, compliance and onboarding processes — we make the administrative side straightforward so you can focus on finding the right people
- Be part of an organisation where your work has a direct, visible impact on children’s lives
