Job Description:
Wayman Education is seeking to appoint a talented, enthusiastic, and dedicated Music Teacher on behalf of a highly respected secondary school in Borehamwood. This is a full-time, permanent position commencing in September 2026.
This role provides an exceptional opportunity for an experienced practitioner looking to further their career within a successful and ambitious school, or an ambitious Early Career Teacher (ECT) seeking a comprehensive induction programme within a supportive and well-established Performing Arts faculty.
The Role
As a Music Teacher within this thriving Performing Arts department, you will deliver an engaging and inspiring curriculum that develops students' performance, composition, listening, and analytical skills.
- Teach Music across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (GCSE), with opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 5 (A-Level) teaching depending on experience.
- Plan and deliver high-quality lessons that encourage creativity, musical confidence, and technical development.
- Support students in developing their practical performance skills across a range of musical styles and genres.
- Prepare students for public examinations, helping them achieve excellent academic and practical outcomes.
- Contribute to the wider life of the department through concerts, productions, ensembles, clubs, and enrichment activities.

Experience & Qualifications
- A formal teaching qualification with UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (e.g. PGCE, BEd, or equivalent).
- An undergraduate degree in Music or a closely related discipline.
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students across a range of musical disciplines.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- A valid legal right to work within the United Kingdom.
