Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Commis Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for food preparation and cooking, with a keen eye for food safety and hygiene standards. Duties
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Support senior chefs in food presentation and plating to ensure visual appeal
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety regulations
- Help in the inventory management by checking stock levels and notifying supervisors of shortages or expiry dates
- Participate in the proper storage of ingredients and prepared foods to minimise waste
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service periods
- Supervise junior staff when required, providing guidance on food preparation and safety procedures
- Contribute ideas for menu development and presentation enhancements
- Uphold high standards of hospitality, serving guests efficiently and courteously when needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
- Experience in supervising or managing team members is desirable
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure during busy service times
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to motivate team members
- Good communication skills and a friendly, professional attitude towards colleagues and guests
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant roles is advantageous but not essential for entry-level candidates willing to learn

Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
