Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detailed-oriented Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that products are accurately packed and prepared for dispatch. This person requires a strong focus on quality control, efficiency, and adherence to safety standards within a warehouse environment.
Key responsibilities and duties
· Accurately pick and pack products for shipment, ensuring items are handled with care and they are secure and protected during transit.
· Perform quality control checks to verify that all items meet company standards before packing.
· Utilize warehouse management systems to track inventory and manage stock levels effectively.
· Load and unload items from lorries, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
· Assist in picking and packing orders as required, maintaining an organised workspace.
· Safely and efficiently operate warehouse machinery, such as pallet trucks and other machinery.
· Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including manual handling techniques.
· Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment. This includes general cleaning and housekeeping.
· Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and improve packing processes.
Skills and qualifications
Essential skills
· Physical fitness: The role involves physical effort, including lifting, carrying and standing for extended periods.
· Attention to detail: Meticulous approach to work to ensure accuracy in order picking, stock management and quality checking.
· Teamwork and communication: Ability to work well with others, follow instructions and communicate effectively with colleagues and managers.
· Organisation and management: Ability to manage workload, prioritize tasks and meet targets.
· Basic IT skills: Competency in using basic computer systems for the process of orders.
· Numeracy and literacy: Fundamental skills for worksheets, delivery notes and managing stock.
FLT- License is advantageous but not essential
Experience
· Previous experience in a warehouse or packing environment is preferred but not essential.
· Familiarity with warehouse management systems is advantageous.
· Ability to perform heavy lifting as required, with a focus on safety practices.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality control standards.
Hours of Work: Mon -Fri 8:30 am - 5:30 pm
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £12.71 per hour
