The post‑holder will assist with the planning, coordination and delivery of sustainability programmes and projects, including those related to carbon reduction, energy efficiency, waste management, sustainable procurement and wider environmental improvement initiatives.
They will also lead on specific project work packages in line with the organisation’s sustainability strategy, as well as provide programme and project support to meet internal and external reporting, compliance and regulatory requirements.
The post‑holder will be expected to exercise initiative, prioritise conflicting work demands and communicate effectively—both verbally and in writing—with the multi‑disciplinary team, internal departments and external partners. This will ensure Quality, Efficiency and Performance Improvement in support of the Trust’s sustainability objectives and its commitment to delivering excellence in patient care through environmentally responsible practice.
The post‑holder will play a central role in the delivery, monitoring and tracking of the organisation’s sustainability portfolio, ensuring progress is captured, risks are escalated, and outcomes are reported accurately. They will need to be highly organised and responsible for managing their own day‑to‑day workload.
Act as the first point of contact for the Sustainability Team, managing all enquiries in a proactive and professional manner, using sound judgement and proposing solutions for complex or sensitive sustainability ‑ related queries.
L ead on the production and circulation of papers, including agendas, minutes and action logs for Sustainability Programme Boards, Project Boards and working groups, supporting the monitoring of progress against sustainability plans and targets.
Build strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across the organisation and with external partners, supporting collaboration on sustainability, carbon ‑ reduction and environmental ‑ improvement initiatives.
Ensure completion of project activities in collaboration with project and programme managers, confirming that sustainability project goals are achieved within agreed time, cost and quality parameters.

Duties will include the development and maintenance of effective sustainability reporting systems, coordination of office administration, and supporting the continuance of high standards of professional practice across the Sustainability Team.
