Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Driver Mate to join our logistics team. This role involves supporting the driver in delivering goods efficiently and safely across various locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and experience in delivery operations. Responsibilities
- Assist the driver in navigating routes and ensuring timely deliveries
- Help with loading and unloading goods from the lorry, including handling flatbed loads when necessary
- Ensure all deliveries are made accurately and in accordance with company procedures
- Conduct basic vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding delivery schedules or issues
- Follow all health and safety regulations during loading, transit, and unloading processes
Requirements
- Comfortable with heavy lifting
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to commercial vehicles
- Experience working in warehouse environments or handling freight, including flatbed loads
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
- Demonstrated ability to operate a flatbed vehicle safely and efficiently
- Prior experience with delivery routes and logistics operations is desirable
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow instructions accurately
