Barnas Recruitment are currently looking for qualified and passionate Nursery Practitioners to support our client based in Southampton.
This is a flexible role offering ad-hoc shifts that fit around your availability, whether you’re looking for a few days a week or more regular work. We partner with nurseries that genuinely value their staff and create supportive, child-focused environments where practitioners can thrive.
What you’ll be doing
- Creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children
- Supporting learning and development in line with the EYFS framework
- Building positive relationships with children, families, and nursery teams
- Encouraging learning through play, activities, and daily routines
- Maintaining high standards of care, safeguarding, and wellbeing
- Supporting with day-to-day nursery activities, including mealtimes and tidy learning spaces

What we’re looking for
- Good understanding of EYFS and safeguarding practices
- Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification
- Proven experience working within nursery settings
- Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) or willingness to obtain one
- Reliable, adaptable, and confident working in different environments
- Friendly communication skills and a positive attitude
