Farid Hillend Engineering - one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of high-quality, custom-built recycling collection vehicles. With over 50 years of industry experience, we are a well-established and respected business.
Due to increased demand, we are expanding our regional service team and are looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to support customers in the Oxfordshire area.
In this role, you will be responsible for commissioning new vehicles, supporting customers through training and technical expertise, and carrying out repairs and modifications to our vehicles in service. You will play a key role in building strong customer relationships and promoting our spares and service offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults on refuse collection vehicles in service.
- Carry out repairs on our customers sites to minimise vehicle downtime and maintain collection schedules.
- Provide technical advice and training to operators on correct vehicle use to reduce breakdowns.
- Assist with the preparation and provision demo vehicles, ensuring they are maintained to a high standard.
- Identify and order replacement parts to ensure timely repairs.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, including LOLER standards.
- Liaise closely with our service desk to prioritise and plan repairs effectively.
- Record parts usage, labour time, and follow-up actions clearly.
You’ll have:
- Experience as a Commercial Vehicle Engineer, ideally in a field-based role, with the ability to manage and prioritise your workload effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to be able to manage expectations with your customers.
- Experience with hydraulics and CAN bus electrical systems an advantage but training will be given.
- A proactive, customer-focused approach with a willingness to take ownership and go the extra mile.
