About the child/children/role: SENNIESis delighted to support a lovely family of four in Herne Hill, South London, in their search for a dedicated, long-term Sennie for their daughter, G5. The family are looking for after-school support 3 afternoons a week, plus Saturday mornings, with the role starting in the last week of August 2026 — just before G5 begins school in September.
This role follows a low demand, home-based approach. G5 tires easily after her day at nursery (and soon school), so the focus during weekday afternoons is on calm, restful, enjoyable time at home — the garden, dolls, stories and familiar routines. Saturday mornings allow a little more adventure, such as swimming or soft play for an hour, balanced with rest. The Sennie will collect G5 using a buddy system for the 15-minute walk to and from nursery/school.
G5 is a social, affectionate little girl who loves music and role play, especially with her dolls. She is physically healthy, eats well and isn’t a fussy eater, though she can get bored quickly if there isn’t enough planned to keep her engaged — thoughtful activity planning makes a real difference to her day.
G5 has a chromosomal disorder resulting in global developmental delay across all areas, and has limited language — she communicates through gestures and some signs. She also shows possible signs of ADHD. She has an EHCP and receives a holistic package of support including occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and psychology input.
G5 can find transitions difficult and may become upset or frustrated, sometimes throwing an object such as a cup or plate — she benefits from a calm, patient adult who can support her through these moments gently and without escalation. Key areas of development for G5 are speech and language and behavioural regulation. The family are looking for a Sennie who can support these goals consistently, while respecting G5’s need for a calm, low demand pace, particularly after school.
