Overview
We are looking for a reliable and proactive Yard Operative to join our team. This is a hands-on role that is essential to keeping our warehouse and yard running efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Organise and maintain the yard to ensure it remains clean, safe and efficient.
- Manage stock within the yard, ensuring products are stored correctly and stock rotation is carried out using FIFO (First In, First Out) principles.
- Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently using appropriate equipment.
- Assist with the filling and packing of products when required.
- Check incoming and outgoing goods for accuracy and report any discrepancies.
- Ensure all stock is clearly identified and stored in the correct locations.
- Work closely with the production, warehouse and purchasing teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
- Carry out routine housekeeping duties to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Follow all company health, safety and environmental procedures.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a yard, warehouse or manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Forklift truck licence is preferred (or willingness to undertake training).
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
- Positive attitude and willingness to support other departments as required.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
