Multi Trade Operative (Customer Care Operative)
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Multi Trade Operative (Customer Care Operative) to join our Customer Care team at Shanly Homes.
This is a customer-facing property maintenance and aftercare role, working in recently completed new-build homes. You will carry out remedial repairs, snagging works, and general multi-trade maintenance to ensure all homes meet the highest standards following customer occupation.
This role is ideal for an experienced tradesperson who has worked in multi-trade maintenance, housing aftercare, property repairs, or new build snagging, and who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship in occupied homes.
You will be covering sites across the Southern Home Counties, including Surrey, West Sussex, and Hampshire, using a company vehicle.
About the Role
- Carry out multi-trade repairs and remedial works in occupied new-build homes
- Arriving at each job fully prepared with the necessary tools, materials and supplies
- Complete all property maintenance and defect repairs to a high standard of finish
- Accurately recording job information using customer care software and completing all required documentation
- Communicating clearly and professionally with customers throughout, answering queries and managing expectations
- Escalating issues to the wider customer care team where appropriate
About You
We are looking for a reliable and skilled Multi Trade / Maintenance Operative with experience in property aftercare or domestic repairs.
- Proven experience in a multi-trade, maintenance, or property repairs role
- Strong background in carpentry, decorating, tiling, plastering, mastic, or general building repairs
- Experience in new build snagging, housing maintenance, or customer care repairs (desirable)
- Ability to diagnose and complete property defects and remedial works to a high standard
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using IT software to track jobs
- Full UK driving licence
