Role Overview
Vendo Digital is looking for a confident, commercially-minded SEO Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of organic search clients and act as their day-to-day trusted advisor. As the agency continues to scale at pace, we need someone who can hold the relationship, own the strategy, and drive delivery across technical, content, and off-page workstreams.
This role is ideal for someone with around three years’ SEO experience, ideally within an agency, who is ready to step up from pure execution into account leadership — balancing client relationships, commercial performance, and the coordination of specialist delivery. You’ll be the person clients trust to keep their organic growth on track, and the person internally who makes sure the work gets done to a high standard, on time.
Our business is built on supporting small to medium-sized businesses across a wide range of industries, meaning no two days are ever the same. You’ll manage a varied portfolio, turning SEO strategy into measurable commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Own a portfolio of SEO client accounts as the primary day-to-day point of contact, building strong, trusted relationships
- Develop and deliver SEO strategies aligned to each client’s commercial goals, from initial roadmap through to ongoing optimisation
- Coordinate delivery across technical SEO, on-page optimisation, content, and digital PR/link building, briefing and managing specialists to ensure work lands on time and to brief
- Take ownership of account performance, ensuring client KPIs and ROI targets (rankings, organic traffic, leads, and revenue) are consistently met
- Lead clear, insightful monthly and quarterly reporting, presenting performance, insight, and next steps to clients with confidence
- Oversee and interpret technical audits, keyword research, and competitor analysis to identify and prioritise growth opportunities
- Identify and recommend upsell and cross-sell opportunities to support client retention and account growth
- Maintain accurate, timely account updates in line with our internal compliance standards, including the 48-hour Asana update rule
- Collaborate with Paid Media, Content, Web, and CRM teams to ensure joined-up, integrated campaign delivery
- Stay up to date with algorithm updates, AI Overviews, and the evolving search landscape, translating change into clear client recommendations
- Support and mentor junior executives, sharing best practice and helping develop team capability
Skills & Experience
- Degree qualified (preferably in Marketing or a related discipline)
- A minimum of three years’ SEO experience, ideally within an agency environment
- Solid hands-on experience across technical SEO, on-page optimisation, content, and off-page/link acquisition
- Confident with Google Search Console, GA4, and rank-tracking and reporting tools (e.g. Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Looker Studio)
- Strong proficiency in Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Excel
- Experience managing multiple client accounts and priorities simultaneously
- Proven ability to analyse data and turn insight into clear strategic actions
- Strong understanding of the relationship between SEO, PPC, CRO, and Paid Social
- A track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships
- Commercial awareness with the confidence to spot and pitch growth opportunities
- Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills
- Proactive attitude with the confidence to take ownership and drive performance improvements
