Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, qualified (childcare) and experienced Baby Unit Manager to oversee the daily operations of our baby unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of early years practitioners, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care, and maintaining compliance with childcare standards. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment focused on infant health and development, with a strong emphasis on team management and specialised baby training.
Duties
- Lead and supervise other practitioners within the Baby Unit
- Coordinate children's development, next steps, 2 year checks and ensuring they meet individual needs and adhere to guidelines
- Oversee medication administration, ensuring accuracy and compliance with safety protocols
- Collaborate with other agencies where needed. e.g referral, health visitors, physio.
- Organise training sessions, and facilitate professional development opportunities
- Ensure the baby unit maintains high standards of hygiene, safety, and infection control procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation of children's records and in-bed the curiosity approach invitations/provocations in accordance with legal and organisational policies
Requirements
- Proven experience in working directly with children in a day nursery setting 0-2 years
- Strong background in baby room management or supervision in a baby room
- Demonstrated leadership skills with supervising experience in a childcare environment
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Compassionate approach to baby care with a focus on family-centred practices
- Relevant qualifications in childcare level 3 or above, recognised within the UK
