We are seeking a dedicated Senior Support Worker to join the team at Lorac Lodge. This role is vital in ensuring high-quality, consistent care for children and young people within a safe and structured residential environment. You will play a key leadership role in supporting positive outcomes and day-to-day care delivery.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership during shifts, guiding and supporting the care team.
- Act as the senior point of contact on shift, ensuring effective handovers and continuity of care.
- Promote a positive and professional team culture focused on safeguarding and child-centred care.
- Ensure care plans are implemented effectively and reflect individual needs.
- Monitor young people’s progress and contribute to care plan reviews.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care and daily activities.
- Work collaboratively with families, schools, social workers, and external professionals.
- Support and mentor new or less experienced staff members.
- Assist management with supervision, training coordination, and performance monitoring.
- Support quality assurance processes and compliance with Ofsted standards.
- Contribute to preparing the home for inspections and implementing improvements.
- Respond effectively to incidents, safeguarding concerns, and emergencies.

Requirements
- Experience in a senior or leadership role within children’s residential care.
- Experience supporting children with emotional and behavioural needs.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and Ofsted regulations.
- NVQ or BTEC Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or working towards it).
- Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
- Safeguarding and Child Protection training.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour support (desirable).
- Ability to manage challenging situations and emergencies.
- Enhanced DBS clearance.
- Right to work in the UK.
