Job Description:
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Solar PV Electrician to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation, connection, testing, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic systems for residential and/or commercial projects. You’ll play a vital part in helping customers transition to clean, renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities
Install and wire solar PV systems, including inverters, isolators, batteries, and related components.
Carry out AC and DC electrical connections and ensure systems are fully tested and commissioned to MCS standards.
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault finding on existing PV installations.
Ensure compliance with the latest wiring regulations, health and safety standards, and company procedures.
Accurately complete and submit electrical certificates, testing documentation, and reports.
Collaborate with project managers, roofers, and other team members to deliver high-quality installations on time.
Provide technical support and advice to customers where required.
Requirements
Qualified electrician with NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds 2365/2330 or equivalent.
18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
ECS / CSCS card (desirable).
Experience installing and commissioning solar PV systems (domestic and/or commercial).
Good understanding of AC/DC systems and electrical schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable (but not essential)
MCS accreditation or experience working on MCS-accredited systems.
Experience with battery storage systems.
Additional qualifications (e.g., EV charger installation, inspection & testing).
Full UK driving licence (Preferred)
