We are seeking a dedicated, resilient and highly proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary SEND Hub from September 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and confident practitioner who is passionate about supporting children with a range of additional needs. The successful candidate will play a key role within the provision, helping to create a safe, nurturing and purposeful learning environment where every child can thrive.
The role requires someone who is prepared to take initiative, work independently and confidently lead aspects of the provision when required. We are looking for an individual who can build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families and who is willing to go above and beyond to meet the needs of the children.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils with a range of SEND needs throughout the school day.
- Delivering targeted interventions and personalised learning activities.
- Supporting pupils with personal care, including nappy changing and toileting where required.
- Helping to manage routines, transitions and behaviour positively and consistently.
- Working closely with teaching staff and external professionals.
- Taking responsibility for the smooth running of the SEND Hub during parts of the day and demonstrating confidence in making appropriate decisions.
- Contributing to planning, record keeping and pupil progress monitoring.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience of working with children with SEND.
- Be confident, organised and able to use their own initiative.
- Demonstrate a calm, positive and resilient approach.
- Be comfortable providing personal care support.
- Be committed to achieving the best outcomes for children with additional needs.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Be willing to take ownership and leadership within the provision when required.
