First of all—congratulations. You survived the lesson observations, the university assignments, the 6am alarm clocks, and at least one lesson where absolutely nobody could find a glue stick. Now it’s time for the exciting part: actually teaching.
At Excell Supply, we’re looking for enthusiastic ECTs and NQTs ready to step into classrooms across supportive Primary and Secondary schools. Whether you dream of inspiring future scientists, surviving Year 1 phonics, explaining fractions for the 14th time before lunch, or pretending you know how the interactive whiteboard works—we’re here to help you get started.
Supply teaching is one of the best ways to build confidence early in your career. You’ll gain experience in different schools, discover what year groups suit you best, and pick up classroom tricks they definitely didn’t teach you during training.
Our partner schools understand that ECTs need support, encouragement, and occasionally five uninterrupted minutes to drink a coffee while it’s still hot. Whether you’re looking for flexible day-to-day work, longer-term placements, or your first permanent opportunity, we’ll help find the right fit for you.
What we’re looking for:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or currently completing teacher training
- ECTs and NQTs ready to begin their teaching journey
- Placement experience in Primary or Secondary schools
- A positive attitude, resilience, and good sense of humour
- Strong classroom presence—even when the technology disagrees with you
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- Someone who can stay calm when asked, “Miss/Sir, is this assessed?” at least 14 times a day
