An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Lead Engineer / Building Services Supervisor to join a major commercial contract based in Northampton. This role offers excellent long-term progression, the opportunity to work on a large, high-profile site and lead an established engineering team.
The Role:
The successful candidate will act as the day-to-day lead for the engineering team, overseeing both Shift Engineers and Day Engineers while reporting directly into the Technical Services Manager and Site Lead.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing the day-to-day operation of the engineering team
- Ensuring planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive works are completed to a high standard
- Supervising subcontractors and specialist contractors on site
- Overseeing safe systems of work (SSOW) and ensuring compliance procedures are followed
- Supporting minor project works and engineering improvements
- Completing engineering documentation and compliance records
- Carrying out toolbox talks and supporting team development
- Auditing completed works and maintaining engineering standards
- Supporting and progressing through Authorised Person (AP) training where required
Requirements:
- Previous experience leading engineering teams at Shift Lead level or above
- Strong building services / facilities maintenance background
- Electrical and/or Mechanical qualifications required
- AP qualification highly desirable
- Experience managing contractors and overseeing compliance on commercial sites
- Full UK driving licence required
