We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Team Supervisor to join the team for Cheshire East Area, covering sites in Alsager, Crewe, Knutsford & Macclesfield. Must have your own Vehicle to travel to all location
Main purpose
The successful post holder will need to display leadership of their team and put their team to work safely with designated roles and responsibilities which are monitored and controlled in line with the procedures and policies relevant to the successful operation of the facility.
The post holder will be required to work on any of the 4 x Recycling Centres as required, however the role is to be primarily based at the Crewe HWRC,
The post holder will be required to carry out regular monitoring in line with the company’s Internal Management System (IMS), as well as other such routine tasks associated with the safe running of the facility.
As this is a “customer facing” role, the post holder will be the first escalation point should there be any complaints, conflict or incidents that may arise.
Duties
- Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with
- instructions, and to comply with safety rules/procedures, regulations, and codes of practice.
- If aware of any unsafe practice or condition, or if in any doubt about the safety of any situation, consult their supervisor.
- Ensure that the use of the correct tools/equipment for the work and not allow anyone to use any that are unsafe, damaged, or not otherwise procured for the specific task. All tools, equipment and personal protective equipment must be stored in the approved place after use.
- Ensure that all guards are securely fixed and that all safety equipment and personal protective clothing/equipment provided are used.
- Ensure that mobile plant or equipment is only used by trained and authorised personnel.
- To report any accident, near-miss, dangerous occurrence, or dangerous condition to their line management.
- To switch off and secure unattended plant or equipment.
Duties may vary based on service requirements
Experience
- · Full driving licence or bike licence Essential
- · Mobile plant experience preferred but not essential as full training will be given.
- · Experience in the waste recycling industry (preferred).
- · Experienced in roles which include manual handling and prepared to work outdoors in all kinds of weather.
- · Be available for overtime, as and when required.
- · Good IT skills including an understanding of Microsoft office products.
- · Demonstrate health and safety focus and desire to improve health and safety performance on site.
- · Demonstrate good leadership skills and be able to work under minimum supervision.
Weekly
Pay £13.76
Shift pattern: Monday-Sunday
Hours 08.30 -18.00 summer hours and 08.30-16.00 winter hours.
