KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Teacher of English
As a Teacher of English, your main responsibilities will include:
- Delivering engaging, challenging, and differentiated lessons across the curriculum.
- Supporting student progress and development as a teacher and tutor.
- Contributing to raising standards of student attainment through effective teaching and assessment.
- Participating in curriculum planning, resource development, and departmental initiatives.
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress and reporting effectively to parents and carers.
- Engaging in professional development and performance review processes to continually improve practice.
- Contributing to the wider school community, including extracurricular activities and pastoral support.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The successful Teacher of English candidate will:
- Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree.
- Have experience teaching English at secondary level.
- Understand effective teaching and learning strategies and how to motivate students.
- Have high expectations for all students and a commitment to promoting equality of opportunity.
- Be confident in curriculum planning, assessment, and developing resources.
- Work well within a team, building positive relationships with colleagues, students, and parents.
- Have good ICT skills and be able to use technology creatively in the classroom.
- Be highly organised, proactive, and committed to professional growth.
