Job Description – Mechanical Engineer

Our customers include super-prime residences and developments, hotels & hospitality, schools & universities, public sector, commercial offices, industrial, health & social care, and retail.
The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen with DMA Group for a Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join our team, working predominantly on a mobile contract throughout Thurrock. There may occasionally be a need to travel to other sites throughout London and Kent, as and when required.
Responsibilities
The Engineer will be responsible for service, routine maintenance, fault finding and repair, across a wide range of equipment in a variety of commercial settings. The Engineer will be required to work on the following type of assets:
- Booster sets
- Actuators
- Pressure Sensors
- Heat Exchangers
- Pumps
- Heat Interface Units
- Expansion Vessels
- Extract Fans
- Pressurisation units
- Air Handling Units
- Associated controls
- Lamp changes
- Monthly emergency lighting tests
As a Mechanical Building Services Engineer, duties will include but may not be limited to:
- Carrying out servicing and preventive maintenance works on all mechanical equipment, as required.
- Assist project division with mechanical installation work.
- Reactive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs of mechanical systems.
- Identifying of faults and raising of quotes for the relevant repair work.
- Providing support to clients to resolve technical issues.
- Ensuring the customer is updated with the status of outstanding and completed works.
- Building strong relationships and working alongside maintenance team, on site.
- Efficient completion and logging of job sheets using our in house system.
- Maintain a high standard of personal presentation with a confident, professional and welcoming personality.
Qualifications and Experience
- Recognised industry qualifications; minimum NVQ Level 3 / OR time served Experience within FM industry.
- 18th Edition
- Minimum 3 years post qualification experience
- Candidates with experience in a similar role within a maintenance environment will be given preference.
Skills
- Strong customer care skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Be a team player who is adaptable and has good communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise.
Schedule
Our normal site hours are Monday – Friday 8:00am - 5pm however we understand there is need for flexibility due to our clients, on site needs.
Remuneration and Benefits
We are happy to offer an attractive base salary plus overtime pay. The engineer will receive a van and fuel card for travel, access to our trusted suppliers/trade accounts, mobile phone, tablet/PDA, uniform and any trade specific tools. Engineers are expected to provide their own 'hand tools'.
The Engineer will also benefit from 25 days annual leave (plus public holidays), company pension, death in service benefit and 'Smart Health' service.
