About the Role
Lining Division Ltd a Vortex Company, a specialist CIPP (Cured-In-Place Pipe) rehabilitation contractor, is seeking an experienced and motivated CCTV Surveyor to join our growing operations team covering projects across the South of the UK.
This is a key technical role within the business. You will be responsible for inspecting wastewater and stormwater pipeline networks, identifying structural and service defects, and producing high-quality survey reports that directly inform and support our trenchless rehabilitation and lining programmes.
Working across a range of infrastructure environments — from public sewers to private drainage assets — you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate condition assessment, supporting design decisions, and contributing to successful project delivery.
This position involves regular travel to sites across Southern England and close collaboration with engineers, lining crews, and operations management.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out CCTV inspections of foul, surface water, and combined sewer systems using crawler and push-rod camera systems
- Conduct pre- and post-rehabilitation surveys to verify condition and quality of CIPP installations
- Identify, classify, and code pipe defects in accordance with MSCC5 or specific client standards
- Accurately measure pipe dimensions, material types, flow conditions, and structural integrity
- Produce clear, detailed, and professional survey reports using industry-standard software
- Upload, manage, and maintain digital survey data within internal and client systems
- Provide on-site technical feedback to Site Engineers and Project Managers
- Assist with site setup, traffic management coordination, and confined space operations where required
- Maintain CCTV vehicles, camera systems, and associated equipment in good working order
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety legislation, company procedures, and environmental standards
- Represent Lining Division Ltd professionally when working on client sites
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ proven experience as a CCTV Surveyor within the drainage or utilities sector
- Certified to OS19X and OS21X (or equivalent WRC-approved accreditation)
- Strong working knowledge of MSCC5 defect coding and condition grading
- Experience with industry-standard CCTV equipment and reporting software
- Confident in identifying structural defects, infiltration, root ingress, fractures, deformation, and service defects
- Experience working in live sewer environments and understanding flow control practices
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary site team
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Confined Space and CSCS accreditation (desirable)
