Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Junior CDP to join our culinary team at Highley Manor Wedding Venue. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food and eager to develop their skills within a professional kitchen environment. The Junior CDP will support senior chefs in preparing high-quality dishes, ensuring food safety standards are maintained, and contributing to a positive dining experience for our guests. Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Assist in food preparation and meal assembly according to established recipes and standards
- Support the cooking process, ensuring dishes are prepared efficiently and accurately
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Help with ingredient preparation, including chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Ensure all food handling procedures adhere to health and safety standards
- Assist in plating and presentation of dishes to meet quality expectations
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and organised kitchen environment
Requirements
- Basic experience or interest in food preparation, cooking, or the culinary arts is desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and practices within a professional kitchen setting
- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality environment is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to work efficiently under supervision and follow instructions accurately
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills and develop culinary knowledge
- Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings and weekends if necessary
